By Tracey Manailescu, WPIC Co-founder and Vice President
Last month we held our 2nd in-person styled shoot course, “The Art & Execution of Styled Shoots“.
The first day of the class involved the business, coordination, and planning, with hands-on exercises that will be applied to the real styled shoot that students executed the next day. Students heard from industry experts, received professional working shots, and participated in every aspect of one of two real Styled Shoots (from set-up to execution, to coordination, to tear-down) with guaranteed publication.
The Albany Club was such a perfect venue to host these period themed styled shoots. We were truly treated like royalty throughout the two days we were in attendance. 135 mm Photography captured the day perfectly!
The first was a Bridgerton inspired theme, and the 2nd was a Marie Antoinette inspired bridal shower theme. We will share these photos soon on the blog once both have been published on media outlets..
WPIC Co-founders Danielle Andrews and Tracey Manailescu led the students through the ins and outs of styled shoots, contracts, sourcing wedding pros, model releases, and how to get published.
Then we heard from Nick Alampi of Andrews Formals. We had hands-on trial and error of tying ties, bow ties and hearing the expectations of a leading men’s formal wear store in Toronto.
Next, was Flat-lay Styling by Jordan Kentris of A Good Day Inc.
Patricia Drewnowska of Patricia’s Cake Creations led us through a proper (and delicious) cake tasting!
A special thank you to Doro Fine Gifts for the beautiful give away! Sally Gopaul was the lucky winner.
