Designed Dream is known for its high-touch planning experience and incredibly detailed execution. What does “luxury service” mean to you behind the scenes, beyond design?
For me, luxury isn’t about how something looks, it’s about how it feels. Behind the scenes, “luxury service” means absolute clarity, calmness, and confidence at every stage of the planning process. It’s anticipating questions before they arise, solving problems before clients ever hear about them, and delivering an experience where they feel supported, informed, and taken care of. Our couples don’t just see the final product, they feel the structure, the organization, the thoughtfulness, and the peace of mind. Luxury is the comfort of knowing everything is handled with precision, even the things they never knew needed handling.

2. Your team plans weddings in multiple languages and cultures. How do you ensure all couples feel understood and supported while keeping your communication clear and consistent?
We start by listening deeply. Every culture, every family dynamic, and every communication style is different, and we respect that. Because our team speaks several languages and comes from diverse backgrounds, we’re able to create an environment where couples feel genuinely understood, not just “managed.”
At the same time, we maintain consistency through strong internal systems: unified planning documents, transparent workflows, shared timelines, and weekly team alignment. No matter which coordinator a couple interacts with, the planning experience feels seamless because we all follow the same standards of clarity and professionalism.

3. You have a strong destination wedding portfolio. What destinations are trending with your couples right now, and what makes them ideal for a smooth planning experience?
Right now, our couples are loving:
- Mexico, Dominican Republic, Bahamas – amazing options combining the beach experience with the ocean, palm trees, sun with delicious tropical food, excursions, all inclusive resorts for guests to stay and exciting hidden gems private venues for weddings that we work with.
- Miami – modern venue options, flexibility for the guests of arranging their own accommodation, variety of amazing food options
- Soon expanding to Italy— always iconic, with venues that balance charm and luxury effortlessly.
What makes these destinations ideal is the combination of accessibility, strong partnerships with local vendors and private exclusive venues. When a destination has trusted vendors, clear processes, and strong hospitality standards, the entire planning experience becomes smooth for both the couple and the guests.
It is also important to also mention that our team speaks Spanish and Italian, which is an added bonus for our clients, and a must for us, because otherwise communication and coordination might be difficult when not speaking local language.

4. Designed Dream frequently goes viral for flawless event-day management. What is one system, tool, or habit you rely on that ensures nothing gets missed?
Our most powerful habit is triple-layered verification as well as a personal approach to each couple and each family.
Every timeline, detail, and vendor commitment is checked three times. Once when it’s created, once before the event week, and once on the day-of during setup.
We use detailed internal checklists, synchronized team communication, and real-time updates to ensure every team member knows exactly what needs to happen and when. It’s not one single tool, it’s the discipline of relentlessly verifying every detail. That consistency is what creates flawless execution.
Personal touch and a connection that we build with our clients are the key to any planning or coordination service. Over the years our experiences have taught us to become selective with our clients and that helps us build strong relationships with them that last long after the wedding is over.

5. After more than a decade in business, what do you wish more couples understood about the value of working with an experienced, certified planning team from the very beginning?
I wish couples knew how much stress, time, and cost they could save by involving a professional planner. An experienced, certified team doesn’t just manage logistics; we guide decisions, prevent mistakes by reviewing contract before their are signed and attending meetings with vendors together with our clients to make sure to ask the right questions, we negotiate and coordinate with them, we work with your budget and try to actually keep you within it, and build the entire planning foundation correctly from day one.
Another important factor is to be able to relax and actually enjoy your wedding day, that’s why we are there for. We take care of all the last minute issues, any hiccups that might arise and allow our clients to relax and enjoy the day together with their loved ones without worrying about any of the logistics, timelines, hiccups etc. Trust your selected vendors, you chose them for a reason and now it is your time to relax and to be present and for us to take charge of everything else for you!!!

With two Master’s degrees and a strong professional background in Marketing, Project Management, and Business Administration, Fidan founded Designed Dream Events in 2010 after earning her wedding planner certification from The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPICC). She launched the company with a firm belief that, through creativity, care, and structure, she could help others turn their dreams into reality.
Having lived across Europe, Asia, and North America, Fidan brings a truly global perspective to her work. Her designs thoughtfully weave together intercultural elements, ensuring that cherished traditions are honoured and elevated within modern wedding aesthetics, never lost, but beautifully highlighted.
This multicultural understanding extends to her team, which includes coordinators from diverse cultural backgrounds who speak multiple languages and share a deep respect for cultural traditions.
In 2016, Designed Dream Events expanded internationally, beginning with destination weddings in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and Miami, and as of the next year expanding into Italy and other parts of Europe.
In 2022, Fidan became a licensed wedding officiant in Ontario, adding another meaningful layer to the services offered by Designed Dream Events.
