Read on to see the specific roles that each title offers as described by Olivia Fata, WPICC of Olivia Fata Events.
A wedding planner will be with you from start to finish. They keep you on budget, recommend vendors, help with design, facilitate venue tours, and of course, they are there the entire day of your wedding. This is the ultimate wedding person if you need that extra guidance.
Wedding Coordinators ARE different than Planners and you don’t need both! They focus on the logistics to ensure your wedding day runs smoothly. Their packages will typically start 8 weeks prior to your big day and ensure all the details (and any stress) is passed off. They will connect with the vendors, create a timeline, go through your design details, and so much more!
This would be a paid employee of the venue, which is included in the cost of your venue. Their priority is the venue. If you are using a full-service venue, they will also be in charge of catering and room layouts. Most venues will not take care of décor rented from out-of-side vendors.
Wedding Designers’ focus is on the aesthetic of your day. They bring the event together and keep everything cohesive and keep the eye focused. If you’re stuck in your design process, it’s time to reach out as a lot of professionals offer this at an hourly rate.
If you have everything planned and organized but need a hand in setting up or tearing down, you may want to look at hiring a team to take some of the pressure off. reach out to your rental companies, as this is typically a service they offer!
