2020 sure has been a challenging year for everyone so far. As a wedding designer and planner, my heart especially goes out to couples who were dreaming of getting married in this rocky year. The couples who wish to keep their big day in 2020 are having to have smaller, more intimate weddings in order to keep everyone safe. While the pandemic has changed what weddings will look like for the near future, it definitely doesn’t mean that a wedding this year should be any less special and beautiful than pre-Covid weddings. In fact, these upcoming “micro-weddings” will often feel even more heartfelt and emotional than weddings of the past because now, absolutely nothing is taken for granted.
Finding your true love, the person on which you will build your future, is a very special gift. It is a moment in your life that matters and deserves to be celebrated whether it is with 200 of your friends and family or with just your immediate family. An intimate affair can still create beautiful memories that will stay with you forever. Now is actually a perfect time to create a fantastically luxurious event! A smaller guest count means more can be spent per person and that means the experience of each of your guests can be elevated to heights that might not have fit your original budget.
When designing breathtaking decor for your wedding, sometimes more is more! More quality flowers at different eye levels, more types of sparkling lighting, more elegant linens, more colourful glassware, more layered tableware and more opulent cutlery can make a huge impact on the feeling of being at a luxurious VIP dinner party. Guests will not soon forget the fragrant pleasure of sitting under a stunning, fresh, floral chandelier.
With a bigger budget per guest, food and beverage choices can be elevated as well. Your menus could now include more quality ingredients and premium beverages and could allow perhaps even a private chef to prepare your meals. In this period of restaurants being closed, even some of Toronto’s highest end restaurants are offering special catering services. Think of how far a budget can go when the guest count is limited.
Regardless of the size of your micro extravaganza, a wedding like this will be enjoyed and remembered in a very special way. Guests will feel extremely lucky to be among the few to be included in this exclusive, luxury event. Whether this is just a preview of the wedding your couple has had to postpone or if it is the big day itself, choose quality and your couple will celebrate their special moment in exquisite style!
