A day devoted to romance and love needs to be celebrated, especially by Wedding Planners!
This year to celebrate Valentine’s Day, Tracey (WPIC Co-founder,) challenged us to create small Microwedding setups at the WPIC offices (see her inspiration in the prior post.) Rosetta Li came to take the photos for both setups, and Chairman Mills supplied all of the furniture and tableware.
The invitation suite invited guests to a Champagne and Cake Reception.
It’s very rare that I work with pink, unless it is for pops of colour, so I decided to go full out with a pink tone on tone palette! Pink table, pink flowers, pink plates, pink macarons, pink champagne, even pink (rose gold) glass and flatware!
About the Design
One of the ways to bring romance in to your design is to engage all of the senses. These velvet linens were the perfect sensual touch (pun intended.) The roses provided the beautiful scent, the mini cakes and champagne for taste, soft music for sound and the eye candy was everywhere!
I used 10 dozen pink roses in various shades and displayed them in simple arrangements. Due to lockdown, all décor stores were closed so my vase selection was very limited. I didn’t like the look of the bare glass vessels, so I reverted to one of my oldest wedding planner tricks and spray painted the vases a shimmery pink.
Here are some more images from the setup.
This pink on pink champagne and cake reception is great inspiration for a Microwedding with just the couple and their witnesses. Or for a small Galentines Day dinner as well!
I made sure that the mini heart cakes were gluten free. Because as a Celiac, I never get wedding cake! My daughter is in the same boat. So as my assistant for the shoot, she got to have some gluten free cake after too!
If you would love to try your hand at a Styled Shoot, but are not sure where to start, what all goes in to the planning, or what to do with your photos after, be sure to check out our course, The Art & Execution of Styled Shoots.
