The Styled Shoot Course
Simultaneously, our Styled Shoot course provided students with the chance to spend the day working alongside a talented wedding team. From start to finish, participants immersed themselves in the planning, coordination, and execution of the Italian Wedding Garden Soiree, gaining invaluable experience and professional photos for their portfolios.
Students also received credit as day-of coordinators, an important step in building their wedding planning businesses.
A Weather Challenge
While the day was filled with excitement and learning, it wasn’t without its challenges. A torrential downpour struck just as we were preparing to capture the most important aspects of our styled shoot—specifically, the terrace and ceremony space.
Our hearts sank as the rain threatened to wash away months of careful planning. Royal Orchid Florist put so much time and effort into the gorgeous and vibrant flowers.
Thankfully, we had a Plan B in place. We quickly moved everything indoors into the elegant ballroom, and during the low-rain moments, we managed to make the ceremony space work (kind of!). Although it was heartbreaking to see our outdoor vision rained out, the resilience and adaptability of our team and students shone through, and the event continued beautifully indoors.
The Italian Wedding Garden Soiree
Despite the weather, the event was a stunning celebration of vibrancy and elegance. The day kicked off with a welcome pizza party on the terrace of The Arlington Estate in Vaughan, ON. Bold and colorful decor, featuring tomato cans, lemons, and oranges, brought a fresh, vibrant touch, while Italian sculptures and red-and-white gingham linens evoked rustic, countryside charm.
The couple enjoyed a cannoli-making station and a limoncello shot bar, which added a fun and spirited element to the festivities. Our team acted as guests, dressed in vibrant, Italian-inspired attire, and the lively music by BB Blanc created an atmosphere of celebration.
The Wedding Ceremony & Reception
The ceremony, initially planned for the terrace overlooking the serene pond and fountain, had to be adapted to the unpredictable weather. Lemons adorned the pergola, and stunning floral arrangements lined the aisle, capturing the essence of Italian flair.
The wedding invitations were incredible. Alessia from Royal Stationery Design is a dream to work with!
For the reception, our team moved indoors to the main ballroom, where sleek black tables and ultra-modern chairs contrasted with warm candlelight and abundant floral arrangements, creating a sophisticated and elegant ambiance.
A Rolls Royce added a touch of glamour to the celebration, while guests were treated to cocktails at the Aperol station and a stunning visual display of Italian scenery.
One of the highlights of the reception was the unique wedding cake, featuring a see-through tier between hand-made orange trees, which left guests in awe.
Though the weather posed significant challenges, the day was a testament to the creativity, professionalism, and resilience of our WPIC team and alumni. We are incredibly proud of how our Styled Shoot course and Headshot Extravaganza came together, and we look forward to continuing to provide these enriching experiences for our community.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey with us!
