August 20-22, 2012 were the dates for Incentive Works 2012 at the MTCC. Danielle and I always look forward to it every year. We get to catch up with old friends, and make some new ones, too.
The trade show has over 700 local, national and international suppliers. Why is this important to Wedding Coordinators? Well, if you are working with Destination weddings you can grow your relationships with the suppliers, and also get to see new products and trends that they offer to clients. You can also catch up with the very people who can help or have helped to make your event/wedding a success.
This year we went to both networking events. We were invited to the VIP pre-event of MPI Foundation Canada Rocks!
We got to hang out in the CAESARS WINDSOR rooftop luxury lounge at Maison Mercer, where we made our own martinis with the interactive Martini area and had tons of great hors d’oeuvres. We experienced a private concert by Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea, and the emcee of the night was Seamus O’Regan. Mode Function did a great job with the decor. An amazing night!
For the Incentive Works closing party, which was hosted by Meetings & Incentive Travel the theme was a “Seaside Soiree” at The 5th Social Club of Easy & The Fifith. Besides the great live band, dancing and flowing food and alcohol, I fell in love with the rooftop patio. So cozy, intimate and still right smack downtown Toronto. (Everything I love in a venue.)
What a great week of learning opportunities & networking. Can’t wait until next year!
