Engaged couples have so many choices to make once they get engaged. Where to say their, “I Do’s”, who to invite, and who to hire to make their wedding dreams come true. Social media and chat groups are full of never-ending choices. It can be over-whelming. Wedding pros may feel frustrated and get lost in a sea of competition. You CAN make it easier for them to choose you. Keep reading to find out 3 things that clients want before hiring you.
What Will You Do For Them?
What services do you offer, and how are they different than other wedding planners?
Couples want to feel taken care of and appreciated. It’s really not about the cost of things. Value far outweighs the cost, most of the time. How have you, and how will you go above and beyond for your couples? Discuss your concierge white-glove approach. Touch on their pain points and have solutions to solving their particular challenges. Focus on common challenges that your favourite clients seem to face.
Show and Tell
Show and tell them what makes you different, and sets you apart from everyone else. What’s going to make them stop scrolling on Instagram and TikTok? Give some value to your posts by sharing how you saved the day at your last wedding. Talk about the lightbulb breaking just before the doors were about to open for the processional in the Jewish wedding ceremony. How you had to run to maintanence and beg them for a new one and got back just in time (yes, this really happened to me!). Share that photo of Grandma dancing with the groomsmen in the middle of the dancefloor, and how it was her favourite song (why haven’t I shared this photo yet?).
They Need a Reason (or Three) to Hire You
Their time is valuable and they need to know you are confident, sure of your offerings, and that you will deliver on them. You should be able to tell them three good reasons to hire you, and then add a sense of urgency to your pitch. As an in-demand planner, you only take on a certain number of clients each year, and have limited spots available. This ensures that each of your couples are given the attention that they deserve.
Now I guess it’s time for me to go through past weddings, and share some tidbits that really stood out to myself and my clients. Let me now if these particular three things that couples want from you was helpful below in the comments.
