When we talk about Social Media Marketing for Wedding Planners, what we are really talking about is Content Marketing. Posting on Social Media just for the sake of posting pretty pictures is not going to gain new clients. In order to be successful in utilizing Social Media in your marketing strategy, you need to be strategic, and purposeful, and create content that fills a need. Your Social Media posts should be content that provides value and serves a purpose for your potential clients.
The more you post on your Social Media outlets, the more attention you will drive to your website. Just be sure to have a proper Marketing Plan so that you are always attracting your ideal client.
Beautiful Images and Templates
Having beautiful images to populate your social media, blog posts, and website is very important for wedding professionals. Likewise, you should be using beautiful, professional intake forms, onboarding documents, checklists, and other branded materials when communicating with your couples and other wedding professionals. A great tool for wedding planners to create branded templates is Canva Pro. There are also two Stock Photo and Template companies that we use, Styled Stock Society and HauteStock. They create beautiful content, templates, forms, and photos for wedding professionals and other creatives.
Website
I recently heard the worst advice to wedding planners I have ever heard. This “Wedding Coach” claimed that Wedding Planners do not necessarily need a website. I am here to tell you, you most definitely need a website. And it needs to be a mobile-friendly one, with all of your contact information easily discoverable and linked. Your website is CRITICAL to your business. Social Media Marketing is all about driving couples to your website. Even if they contact you through one of your social media platforms, they will want a way to research you, see your service offerings, and check you out.
The wonderful thing about utilizing Social Media in your marketing is that all Social Media is designed to link your potential client back to your website and contact information. So that means… all of your Social Media accounts should point back to your website.
How to Use it for Marketing:
- treat your website as your store and information hub
- list all of your Services and starting price points
- have an active Blog integrated into your website
- link all of your Social Media platforms to your website and have links to your social media prominently displayed
- have an About Me page to introduce yourself and list your expertise, experience, and education
- have a Testimonials section
- have a Gallery of past work
- populate your website with lots of beautiful imagery

With so many couples utilizing Pinterest as a Search Engine for their wedding planning, it only makes sense that wedding planners need to have a Pinterest presence to get in front of these couples.
