I have personally heard both David Tutera and Preston Bailey say that their Wedding "Inspiration comes from everywhere."
When you look at some of the prevalent Wedding Trends in the past decade, you have to wonder what inspired the first person to try it. Who thought that a fountain of melted chocolate just HAD to go on their late night buffet? That tall grass would make a great centrepiece? That Grandma's brooches or wooden buttons would be perfect for a bridal bouquet?
Here are some examples of inspiration coming from the least expected places:
- While walking through a nursery to purchase flowers for an event, Tracey (Vice President of WPIC) noticed rolls of sod and inspiration struck: let's cancel the red carpet we ordered and instead have a living carpet to grace our front entrance. It was the perfect accent to our asphalt parking lot and created quite a stir.
- Jo-Anne Brown from Celebrations Ltd. in Grand Caymen loved the indigenous yellow blooming trees flowering in June, so what did she do? She picked them all and created this stunning centrepiece for a Cocktail Party:
- Later that week, she needed white decor for a Gala, so she just looked around her office, and then spray-painted her black bookshelves white 🙂
- I was perusing the website of Bobette + Belle and instantly recognized one of the beautiful cakes: (photo from the Bobbette + Belle website) Not because I had seen it before, but because it was inspired by my Dining Room wallpaper:
- Our Office Events Manager Kim loves shoes. So much so, that she even bought high heel shoe doorstops for our office doors: So when it came time to help us plan a party for Wedding Coordinators, she instantly thought High Heels! So High heels adorned every aspect of the party; from the invites, to the waterbottles, to the centrepieces, to the wedding cake. So take a walk around your neighbourhood, your office or even you local hardware store, and be inspired 😉
