- Drink lots of water in the days leading up to the wedding, and on the wedding day as it will add a glow, and flush out impurities from your skin.
- Let your Wedding Coordinator suggest a reputable Make-up Artist they have used before. The way you look on your Wedding Day, is to important to be left to chance.
- Pluck or wax your eyebrows and mustache approximately a week before the wedding day, to avoid red bumps or blotchiness.
- Make sure the lipstick is a lasting, good quality type, and get someone to check your teeth before you walk down the aisle. Make sure the lip liner is only a shade darker than the lipstick.
- Make sure that the make-up artist uses waterproof mascara in case of tears, and perspiring throughout the day.
- Keep a lipstick, powder and mascara in a similar shade with your Wedding Coordinator for touch-ups through the day and evening.
- If a pimple arises on the wedding day, use Visine and cover it up with a concealer. Do NOT pop it!
- Make sure that you have a test make-up session about two weeks prior to the wedding day, to make sure that it is how you want to look, and that you approve of the make-up artist.
- It is a good idea to bring a sample of the colour scheme for the wedding day. As well, let the make-up artist know if you are wearing ivory or white to make sure that the makeup compliments the bride and your surroundings for the big day.
- The makeup artist should choose the brightest spot possible to apply the makeup to ensure makeup perfection in the bride.
- Make sure that you wear a button down shirt when having the makeup done, so it does not rub off or mess up the makeup.
- Before slipping into your wedding gown cover your face with a towel, sheet or silk scarf to avoid getting makeup on the gown.
