The Style Shoot was on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. The Theme was rustic modern. Rivers Edge Resort is situated on 5 wooded acres of riverfront property in Elma, Manitoba, so the inspiration was nature and rustic wood.
Some of the challenges were finding appropriate props, such as the table, barrels and décor.
The vendors were onboard until some realized how far from the city they had to drive. For example, I wasn’t sure if a hairstylist would be available, so the night before I was watching You Tube videos on how to do up do’s for the models. Some vendors did not have vehicles, so transportation had to be arranged. We provided accommodations for those that wanted to stay late and take night shots.
My husband built a 12×16 floating dock with pictures that I chose from Pinterest. I showed him the vision I wanted and he worked 8 days non-stop to accomplish this. This turned out to be a wonderful prop on the water.
The weather looked threatening during the day, but we lucked out with clear skies when we started. Alternate plans had to be made just in case we had rain.
Catering was arranged to feed everyone as there are no restaurants in the area.
