Two weeks ago, I had the immense pleasure of having a private fitting and tour with Sandra of Rent frock Repeat. I asked Margaret Diotalevi of Avenue Photo to document the appointment so you can see just how awesome this place and their customer service really is!
I went with the intention of finding some super sweet dresses for the Love Mexico Conference in Puerto Vallarta, and I ended up with not one, not two, but three incredible dresses that were perfect for the opening night party, a dinner party and our private photo shoot that we booked with a local wedding photographer to get our new head shots for 2017.
Not only is it great to have new dresses for events just like this, but when you can have fabulous designer dresses to feel like a million bucks, you do it!
I was a little bit nervous walking through the doors of Rent frock Repeat as I didn’t quite know what to expect (and that is just me anyways, lol!).
This would probably be a great time to add that that is not entirely true, as I had a phone call with Sandra asking me to fill out my Rent frock Repeat online profile, and she also told me to have a look at any of the dresses on their website that really stood out to me. There was also an email preparing me on how to make the best of my visit sent to me a few days before my appointment. The email let me know what I should bring with me to make the most of my two hour scheduled visit (high heels, and a sucker-inner if needed, and if you really must know, it was indeed needed). They also have Spanx available for purchase. The real ones..and yes I did purchase one to take home. The hype is real. That thing smoothes away any lumps and bumps, and is totally worth it (I am not wearing it in these photos, but I wish I was).
Usually the appointments are one hour, but since this was a special “Behind the Scenes” visit for the WPIC blog it was scheduled for two hours.
Rent frock Repeat is a rental store to rent high-end designer dresses. It is in a trendy and modern loft-style building in the High park area with a ton of street parking available. There is a cafe directly in front of the entrance, so you get wrapped up in the smells of coffee and chocolate right from the get go (which is a win indeed). When you walk through the doors you can’t help but notice the wall of thank you cards from returning (and happy) clients. Then you are surrounded by strategically placed absolutely gorgeous gowns on racks around the showroom.
As the co-founder of The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (as well as being an event and wedding planner) I attend a lot of industry related events, conferences and parties. It is super stressful having to worry about not wearing the same thing in photos, making sure my outfits are of good quality, as well as the stressing about the cost to do so. Thanks to RfR I no longer need to worry.
Sandra had a rack beside the dressing room all ready for me based off of my RfR profile, and the style that I was going for. I really appreciated this, because two of the dresses that were preselected for me, are what I ended up taking with me!
I so-o-o would’ve taken this dress with me if that mysterious extra 20 (okay 30 pounds) of extra weight didn’t find me this year. However, Sandra said that she would add it to my “Wish List” for the future.
Can I get a heck yeah!?! I loved this purple Badgley Mischka dress. It was perfect for my new headshots.
This one, too!
I really want to thank Sandra, Fatima, Kristy, Derry and Melanie for all of your guidance and suggestions as well as incredible customer service. I had so much fun, and ended up with some incredible designer gowns that I never would’ve been able to justify paying full price to purchase them. Rent frock Repeat, you have made me a believer. I will definitely be back for more.
Thank you!
