***This might be the perfect time to throw in that we are so proud of May for winning the Wedding Specialists of the Year Award for the UAE by the Luxury Travel Guide.
A special thank you to WPIC alumni May Abu Jaber-Halasa of The Wedding Haven for this beautiful destination wedding submission that took place in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

There is just something so special about celebrating your wedding in a totally different country. It really is a unique experience – probably because you are also on holidays and ready to celebrate your love with your nearest and dearest relatives and friends while relaxing and having fun.
I met Fadi and Reem through my brother at my own destination wedding in Punta Cana almost two years ago, and I instantly fell in love with them! They are such warm, and kind souls with a sheer love of life and adventure! So when they approached me to help them plan their wedding in Mexico, I was beyond happy. And I can tell you that their wedding was without a doubt one of my favorite weddings. It was a mixture of fun, and pure romance.
These two lovebirds decided to have their destination wedding at the Gran Porto Real Resort and Spa in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The resort was simply gorgeous. It was architecturally reminiscent of Mexico’s finest haciendas. Set upon the longest stretch of beach amid hush verdant gardens in a truly enchanting atmosphere. Not to mention, the staff at the hotel went over and above to make sure everybody felt at home.
Fadi and Reema had their wedding ceremony on the beach. The sound of the waves kissing the shoreline was a gentle reminder of all the small treasures that nature offers us every day. Reema opted to have white vintage wooden doors positioned at the aisle’s center opened for her grand entrance. Guests sat on the other side of the doors, waiting for her to arrive. The doors added a perfect vintage charm to the beach wedding decor! Brown sugar starfish marked Reema’s way as she entered through the doors escorted by her father.
Following the ceremony, guests were escorted to the Gran Royal Ballroom, which featured all of Reema’s DIY decor – yes, she had spend several months before the wedding crafting her wedding from centerpieces, to wedding favors. And boy did we fall in love.
