When was the last time you had a complete physical? Have you checked your vitals recently? Our physical health play an integral part in self-care as wedding professionals in a fast paced industry.

Regular self-care practices including exercise, a balanced diet and adequate sleep are elements that are needed to enhance overall physical well-being and boost immunity. Our schedules often demand long and exhausting hours during the planning process of weddings. Meeting with clients either virtually or in person can create brain drain and fatigue. Invest in vitamin supplements to fill nutritional gaps and boost immune health.
Wedding Professionals with specific health conditions that could affect the quality of their service, should take preventative measures. Meditation, journaling and participating in echo-friendly environmental activities promote a relaxed mindset and reduce the possibility of stress. Our overall mental health depends on it.
Prioritizing rest and recovery increases productivity in both our personal and professional lives. Balancing the chaos of work and family is a three hundred and sixty five day assignment that never goes away. We can sometimes be our worst caretaker by not taking time to look after ourselves, placing work and everything else before focusing on our own needs.
The lack of self-care also impacts our relationships with clients if not managed properly. When you take care of yourself, you have more energy and emotional capacity to nurture meaningful relationships with clients and vendors, and set healthy boundaries. Regularly dedicating time to self-care reinforces self-worth and sends a positive message to yourself that you deserve attention and care.
Managing emotions effectively, coping with challenges, and recovering from set-backs quickly are self-care techniques that equip us with resilience. Often times we are faced with clients with compromising personalities that don’t always align with ours. Ignoring these simple but often difficult situations create burnout or a negative discourse. Rest and relaxation foster a clearer mind, innovation and creative problem solving. All of these key components are beneficial to our longevity and quality of life. Why not work, live, and rest in order to have a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Creating meaningful experiences is the end result. Let’s not be selfish with self-care.
A balanced life is a happy and productive life.

Lesley, thank you for sharing. Life challenges throw us off course with managing and balancing our lives. This is a reminder that we must take care of ourselves and have a balance.
