Wow, what a year we have
had!
The Wedding Planners
Institute of Canada and its Association WPICAlumni is over 500 people stronger
this year. Alumni have travelled
from Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados, Japan, China and Hong Kong to take our course in
2009.
Over 130 of our Alumni
have had the opportunity to experience Wedding Destinations such as Jamaica,
Bahamas, Turks & Caicos and the Philippines this year. Some were even treated to Private Plane
transportation!
WPIC certified all the Jamaican
Sandals, Beaches and Grand Pineapple staff.
We established and grew
our partnerships with our fantastic travel partners: Sandals and the
lovely, Gina Tsirmpas; SuperClubs
and the wonderful, Steve Koth; Air
Canada Vacations and the darling, Debbie Cotton-Burinski; and The Bahamas Tourism Board and the
fantastic, Vinincia Strachan, WPICC.
We owe so much to our amazing contacts at each of these companies!

The media has referred to
us on many occasions, we have been interviewed on Canada AM twice this year, On
the Line twice, Entertainment Tonight Canada and in Today’s Bride, Chatelaine, The National
Post (multiple times), The Globe & Mail (multiple), and every single city
newspaper in the Sun Media Group (multiple times) as well as many other publications
in print and on-line.
Our President and Vice
President spoke at the Wedding MBA in Las Vegas in September and Instructor,
Tara Murney, spoke to AfWPI members in California.
We’ve “Trashed the Dress”
in Jamaica, The Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, the Philippines and of course,
Toronto.
We just got back from our
best conference to date, the 5th Annual Wedding Professionals
Conference held at the fabulous Beaches Turks & Caicos. We had Sasha Souza, Joanne Brown, Andy
Ebon and Simon & Ciara Daykin speak to us there.
Our Alumni have grown
their businesses leaps and bounds, have received several top Industry Awards,
been appointed the executive of Industry Associations and interviewed, quoted
and featured in many Wedding and mass media publications. We couldn’t be prouder of all our
“Wedding Superstars”!
Year-end is a time to
re-evaluate and set newer and bigger goals and we definitely have.
Some the things on WPIC’s
2010 Agenda include trips to Ireland, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Mexico and Barbados. We will
continue to offer the Annual Wedding Professionals Conference in a sunny
locale. We have started a new
partnership with a very large travel company and will be certifying over 400 of
their agents as Destination Wedding Specialists. Most importantly, we will continue to produce the best
educated, informed and ethical Certified Professional Wedding Coordinators.

2009 has been an amazing year for WPIC and all of its members. I am so proud to be part of this organization and am truly grateful to Danielle & Tracey for the opportunities you have provided to us this past year. The FAM trips have been a wonderful experience to expand our business and focus on destination weddings… and the conference in Turks & Caicos was a great opportunity to learn so much more! 2010 sounds like it will be another amazing year and I can’t wait to be a part of the excitement that it will entail! I am a PROUD wpic member!

I became certified through WPIC for myself, my business and the profession. Nowhere can you get a group of professionals who share, grow and assist the way WPIC does. The conferences, the expertise and the standard of service and knowledge that WPIC offers are essential to every wedding coordinator/planner who wants to grow and offer the best service to their couples. Danielle and Tracey really do know this industry and share so much with us every day. Every year it just keeps getting better and better! I won’t miss a moment being a proud WPIC alumni member.

2009 has been an amazing year for all of us certified wedding consultants and for WPIC. I am so proud to be part of an organization that supports and educates their alumni. I have met so many wonderful people via WPIC and am proud to be involved with such a fantastic group of people. Great job Danielle & Tracey. I have no idea where you two find the time to make things better for all of us. I applaud you for your hard work and determination :o)
So looking forward to 2010 and wondering what’s next? Thanks ladies for everything.
Danielle and Tracey…I applaud you for the outstanding efforts you put forth this year. We had many FAM trips this year that opened my eyes to what was out there and how it will enhance my business. I thank you for that and I look forward to 2010. I’m truly blessed to be part of such an amazing organization.
WPIC’s successes this year are also due in large part to our amazing members. You all deserve a pat on the back!
We are the facilitators, but you guys have invested in yourselves and your businesses and taken it to the next level. We’ve all worked hard this year. It has paid off in recognition from others, the huge amount of media exposure and the awards so many of you have received.

Wow sounds like an awesome year!!!! I can not wait to be apart of it next year! Tracey and Danielle, you can tell that your whole heart and soul go into this. It is great to have such amazing role models for us girls just starting out!

Danielle and Tracey, thank you for such an amazing year! WPIC is one organization I take pride in being a part of and my clients also love that WPIC is there for them too. It verifies who is certified and active within the industry. We have all worked hard but Danielle and Tracey, you have given us an incredible foundation. Congratulations on a fantastic year!
