We work with our couples for months to help plan an amazing wedding for them. On the actual day there are many, many moving parts that require our full attention, so we need to be calm, cool, collected, focused, and not distracted.
The biggest source of distraction is probably your Smartphone. Here are some ways you can eliminate distractions caused by your phone to help you be more efficient and focused at the wedding.
If you are like most people, you have multiple email addresses being received on your phone: one or two personal, a general business email, and your personal business email address. On the wedding day, you only need your specific business email address to reach you. All of the other emails coming in could make you miss an important email about the wedding you are working on. You can use Inbox Pause (a Gmail App) to pause your emails from those accounts for the day, or simply change the password information for the day, because you don’t need sale notifications clogging up your inbox.
If you don’t speak with the couple, or any of the wedding professionals from the wedding on WhatsApp, turn off notifications for the day. Your friends and family will just need to understand that when you are working a wedding, you are not available.
Social Media
You don’t need Social Media notifications on the day of the wedding. One, they might be too tempting not to quickly check, and two, they are definitely taking your focus away from the tasks at hand. All you need to do is turn off all of your Social Media notifications for the day, no need to delete the Apps, and then turn them back on the next day.
By eliminating some of the common things that will distract you on the wedding day, you will be more focused, and as a bonus, you will save some battery power on your phone 😉
