It is not a “requirement”, however it is a very good indicator that your DJ is serious about his/her craft. The CPDJA is the largest Disc Jockey Association in Canada. It is imperative that your DJ carries liability insurance. Additionally many venues require that the DJ has insurance in place. What do you think would happen if a guest at your wedding reception accidentally danced into a speaker stand and sustained a severe injury? There is a very good chance that the guest may sue yourself, the DJ and the venue for damages.
