This is our 4th time attending the Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Media and Market Event produced by Destination Weddings & Honeymoon Magazine (3x in NYC and 1x in LA). The reason we keep coming back to this event?
The answer is quite simple…Education on Destination Weddings!
The event was held in the Grand Ballroom at The Plaza Hotel.
27 companies were represented this year. We were happy to see some of our favourite Resorts in attendance. I personally have stayed at 3 of the resorts in attendance & loved my experiences at each of them. Palace Resorts, South Seas Island Resort and Boca Raton Resort & Club
The 2011 Reader Survey Executive Summary which was conducted by Walker Communications for Destination Weddings & Honeymoons states the following:
- Readers are older, educated and affluent
- Wedding size is down, but spending is up!
- Readers are actively engaged in the wedding planning process
- Destination couples are considering the world
- Cost takes the lead as most important factor in wedding locale, followed by weather
- Warm-weather locales still hold the most appeal
- Destination couples care about convenience
- Destiantion Couples spend more on their honeymoons
- International honeymoons hold the most appeal
- Destination couples turn to technology for wedding and honeymoon planning
