After a whirlwind of working with your couples and other wedding pros for postponements, more postponements and micro weddings due to COVID-19, the holidays are now approaching. Your inbox might finally be a little quieter.
Use this time to appreciate all that you have, and all that you are thankful for. Once you have caught your breath, take some time to work on the backend of your business while you can.
13 ideas to update your business:
- Clean out your Inbox
- Write some articles to update your blog over the next few months (6-12 is a good idea).
- Think about the direction you want to take your business and then come up with a plan for how you will do it #dreamthinkplan
- Learn something new to improve your services (take an online course, attend a virtual conference, etc.)
- Upgrade your website
- Update the wording on your website. Danielle and I just did this last week. It took an entire day, but we feel so much better about it (for now)!
- Go through photos from past weddings and update your portfolio/create posts for social media for #throwbackthursdays from what you have found by looking at all of those past weddings
- Schedule posts for social media (Sked Social, Buffer Publish, Later, Tailwind, Sprout Social, HootSuite, CoSchedule
- Hand-write thank you notes or send a holiday card to your clients and favourite wedding pros
- Reach out to past clients for referrals/testimonials
- Reach out to wedding pros that you admire and would like to get to know better. Comment on their social media and start a chat in a DM.
- Create templates of your services and commonly asked questions (create fresh and professional graphics for them using Canva)
- Create a learning video or start a video series. Danielle and I have invested in some new lighting and a better microphone for our online presentations and videos for social media (a FAB Black Friday deal!). It definitely makes for a softer and more professional look and feel.
There you have it! Do you have anything to add to the list? We would love to hear from you!
