You have probably heard it time and time again: Get to know your Brand; Establish Your Brand; Make Sure You Have a Strong Brand! Because most wedding professionals are sole proprietors and entrepreneurs they are the company, and therefore they are their brand.
With the popularity of social media, and the intimate nature of weddings, it is important that Wedding Professionals have Branded Photos to market themselves effectively. Your potential couples want to see you, what you do and how you do it, and feel a connection even before they reach out to you.
What is a “Brand”?
A company’s brand is the vibe of the company. The style, the feel, the culture. Your brand is who you are and what you do.
Since you are more than likely your company’s brand, it is important to come out from behind the scenes, show your face, and show you doing your thing in Branded Photos.
What is a Branding Photo?
Branding Photos are photographs that represent a business visually. Therefore, your branding photos should be tailored to you and showcase your style as a business. A branding photo is different than a head shot. Some ideas of branding photos would be you building a visual story board, putting together a centerpiece, sitting at your desk, working in your office, working on your computer, talking on your phone, sitting in the space that you meet with clients. If you are a coffee or tea drinker, you could incorporate those cups in your photos.
You are a wedding professional, so make sure that your background is visually appealing, and dare I say it, pretty. Your set should be a bright space with pretty accessories, and of course, flowers.
Showing your personality and illustrating visually what it is like to work with you is very important in branding photos. To do this, you can incorporate props like your clipboard, planner, emergency kit, iPad, what ever you use when working with couples. If you like to have fun, show that in your photos. Some ideas would be taking a bite out of a wedding cake, or popping champagne, or pouring wine in to your coffee mug with a cheeky look. Whatever you do, make sure that your photos represent your personality and company culture, don’t show something that you are not, because you will attract what you put out.
