We are really happy to share a different kind of styled shoot with you today from WPIC’er Tessa Labbe of Unbreakable Vows in Edmonton, Alberta.
It’s different because there are no adult couple in it whatsoever. It also includes some really special vintage gowns that were worn by Tessa’s Great Grandmother, Aunt, Grandmother and Mother. The little ones modeling these dresses are her daughter and nieces.
Thank you for pouring your heart into this shoot Tessa, and for sharing it with us, at WPIC.
Every little girl’s dream….Their wedding day!
As described by Tessa Labbe: “…..Once upon a time you were a little girl, I was a little girl, all the women in the world were little girls. Most girls spend many years dreaming of their wedding day while those few special girls plan their wedding.
My styled shoot is dedicated to all those special girls who couldn’t wait till the day they walked down the aisle. But this shoot is much more to me than just that; the wedding dresses worn range from 1929-1976 and were worn by my Great Grandmother, Aunty Mae, Grandmother and Mother while the little darlings modeling these dresses are my daughter and nieces. I believe it is such a privilege to have the opportunity to work with my family’s most prized possessions along side their youngest generation.
The day was November 1st, 2015 so to have no snow was a blessing. The weather leading up to the day was warm, sunny and very enjoyable, our day though ended up being very chilly and wet. The girls were such troopers playing, smiling while their teeth chattered and bodies shivered. Due to the weather, the shoot focused more on details then the girls actual “wedding day” itself.
The day started with the girls playing with makeup, hair and laughing. From there they went to the “ceremony site” where they walked down the aisle with their homemade bouquets while their toys watched from the side as the guests. To end the celebration of their “wedding day”, they had a tea party in the trees enjoying, cupcakes, cookies, lemonade.
The shoot was taken at the farm where I could focus on a vintage, rustic feel and incorporate many different angles. From my childhood book hanging throughout the trees, to the girls favorite toys as wedding guests, to the homemade flowers on the shed, to the makeup room set up, to the cupcakes, cookies and tea my styled shoot brought those little girls dreams of their wedding day to life. “
