Thank you to Barbados-based WPIC Alumni, Sue Morris, of Soulmates, for the heads-up on this.
Until recently, having a wedding on the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean was just a dream for same-sex couples and their wedding planners. Saba, Antilles, a 5 square mile island of 1,500 people, located just southeast of San Juan, has announced that they will now solemnize Same-sex weddings.
Saba is the smallest municipality of The Netherlands which was the first country in the world to legalize Same-Sex marriage in 2001. While much of the Caribbean islands are openly hostile to the idea of Gay Marriage, Saba views Same-sex Marriage as what it is, a matter of Human Rights.
Bravo Saba! Who would like to get married there? We have many WPIC-certified Destination Wedding Planners ready to help you make your Caribbean wedding fabulous!
