I was invited to attend the 1st annual “Mexico Romantico” in Cancun from October 25-29, 2012 through The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada. This was a program designed specifically for destination wedding planners wanting to expand their knowledge and business to create our own Signature wedding in Cancun. The trip was full of inspiration! We were able to experience the Colin Cowie Collection with Palace Resorts, tour & view beautiful wedding locations throughout various properties, develop strong relationships with some of Cancun’s top wedding vendors and learn from fabulous destination wedding experts.

We were hosted at LeBlanc Resort and Spa which was an experience on its own. The Luxurious Adults Only Le Blanc Spa Resort ranks # 3 among the top 10 all-inclusive resorts in the world. To learn more about the resort, please visit www.leblancsparesort.com.
Day 1 of the conference included a fabulous roof-top welcome cocktail reception at the fabulous Le Blanc resort. Here we had the opportunity to meet the organizers of the event along with fellow destination wedding planners for a meet & greet. We enjoyed amazing food, an evening of laughter and the start to many new blossoming friendships.

Day 1 started off with an educational breakfast hosted at LeBlanc along with presentations on Cancun. We had the opportunity to listen to an expert panel discussing the importance of creating synergies between destination wedding planners & travel experts to best serve our clients. We were also provided information on the many various tours & activities best suited for wedding groups for off-resort activities for our clients. The day also included an offsite lunch at Real Resorts and an afternoon of networking with some of Cancun’s best wedding vendors including local hotels, venues, local wedding planners, photographers, décor & catering vendors which gave us a fantastic opportunity to establish great working relationships in person.

The day wrapped up with an amazing dinner at a local restaurant called “El Mortero” where we got to experience true Mexican culture and authentic cuisine. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Cancun, it was a fantastic experience and the margaritas are second to none!

Day 2 was an extremely busy day of travelling to amazing wedding venues & properties which included a breakfast meeting at the Hyatt, a boat cruise to Islamujeres via Marina Capitan Dulche Cancun, a tour of Moon Palace and a viewing of the Colin Cowie wedding collection.

We were then treated to an amazing experience at Xcaret where we toured the property to view countless wedding locations that would be a perfect location for couples wanting to have a wedding off-resort. Following the tour, we were treated VIP and given front row seats for an amazing cultural show including a plated dinner. A fantastic idea for a wedding group excursion for wedding groups travelling to Mexico.

Our final day onsite in Cancun for Mexico Romantico was a day of photo-shoots and working shots in different wedding set-ups within various properties. We had a blast working with Vincent Van Den Berg and his team from Adventure Photos. Following our photo-shoot, we had time to develop our presentations on our signature wedding that we had created in Cancun; outlining our highlighted locations, vendors and overall wedding design. It was a great way to end the conference; and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I would highly recommend this conference for anyone serious about expanding their destination wedding business.

Hi, I’m a Mexican student. I’m studying in Montreal. I want to know if all your courses are on-line. And if yo have a school in Mexico and where. Thank you so much.
WPIC says
Hi Maria,
We have a class taking place in Montreal on February 7 & 8, 2015. if you are in the area, you should attend! We have the manual in Spanish if you would like. We do have all of the classes on-line, but we feel the in-class is the best way to take the course so you can ask the instructor any question and interact with your peers. Check our locations page for all of our location or you can sign up for the Montreal class on the registration Page.
