Marketing experts say that clients need to see and hear about your company three times before they will purchase. If you are investing a ton of money into a one time marketing tool, that doesn’t leave much room for a second and third impression to sway potential clients.
There are a ton of free outlets to show your style, services and expertise like Facebook, Twitter, your blog. Update your social media consistently with engaging and interesting content. Selling constantly to your readers will turn them off and cost you followers.
There are also online wedding companies where you can put a free listing or at a minimal fee. Just make sure you are targeting to the couples you want to attract, and not to the masses. Know yourself. Know the client that you want to attract. Make your company easy to find. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) needs to be strong on your website and blog. (You can find tips how to do this on the internet without having to pay anyone to do it for you.)
Sponsor your services with charities and functions that you believe in. Volunteer your time behind the scenes at seminars and networking events where you can meet potential contacts who can refer you later on after they see what a great effort you put forth. Referrals are your best friend. This will do better then any ad or bridal show booth ever could. Plus, by doing so, you are gaining valuable experience.
Set a yearly marketing budget, and stick to it. Next year, re-evaluate what worked, what didn’t and what else you can try.
Join an Association that resonates with your goals and ethics. Potential clients like to see that you are active in your community and in the wedding industry.
Attend conferences and seminars that interest you and your business, then Tweet, Facebook and blog about your experiences.
