From Rehearsal to Reception: Wedding Planner Business Outfit Ideas

Selecting the most appropriate attire as a wedding planner is important. It reflects the level of creativity and professionalism that we bring to events, as well as the ability to create a look that is fashionable. Our attire should not only be comfortable, but practical and classy. We are not invited guests, nor are we on a fashion parade, however, our portfolio includes executing our duties, dressing the part and being approachable.

Depending on the formality of the event, planners should dress in either business formal or business casual attire. Tailored suits or dresses in neutral tones that are not seductive in any way along with comfortable footwear. We endure long hours of constantly being on our feet ensuring a smooth and seamless event. Groomed hair, make-up and accessories should also compliment your overall look. Outrageous outfits may create a distraction or may be offensive to the couple’s vision on their special day.

Additionally, other vendors i.e. Caterers, Emcees, Musicians, Photographers, Videographer’s attire are equally as important. If you have not done so already, equip yourselves with branded company shirts or blouses with neat slacks, comfortable and complimenting footwear is suggested. In the absence of branded shirts, in most instances, all black attire works, “When in doubt wear black”. Black is considered an industry standard as it relates to color. Be neat and consistent. Your services and presence also place you in the spotlight. Your attire should complement and not overshadow.
