For most couples, the wedding day is their first opportunity to truly showcase their personalities. It’s a perfect opportunity to get creative with the decor and set the tone for their big day. That being said, you don’t want to overdo it on the decorations or set off too many bells and whistles. We have some ideas for decor tips for pre-wedding photoshoots.
A pre-wedding photoshoot can be a great way to show off the couple’s personality before walking down the aisle and tying the knot in front of all their loved ones. Whether you are an event industry professional or a personal wedding planner, here are a few ideas to make a pre-wedding photoshoot fun and memorable for the engaged couple!
Show off the couple’s personalities
The first thing to do is to incorporate the couple’s personalities into the decorations. Make sure that you communicate with them well in regard to what they envision for their pre-wedding photoshoot.
Think about the ways to incorporate their favorite memories and things in the theme and decorations. Do they prefer something light and airy, or are they more of a minimalist? Do they have a lot of art, or does their wall space go untouched?
Are there certain colors that make them happy, or do they just always seem to clash when put together in one room? These are questions worth answering before getting started on decorations for any event because they help set the tone for whatever it is that’s going on in that space. You can also highlight the couple’s contrasting personalities. Take the extra challenge to put together contrasting themes for a memorable photoshoot!
Go for balloon garlands
Balloon garlands are a great way to add color and texture to your photos. They can be used as a backdrop or as props and are easy to make, inexpensive, and can be used in outdoor and indoor settings. Balloons are colorful and versatile, and you can transform them into balloon arches and or balloon columns from a colorful backdrop. You can also scatter loose balloon pieces on the floor for decoration, or opt for helium balloons and release them during your photoshoot.
Use fabric drapes
Fabric drapes are a great way to add a romantic feel to photos. They can be used as a backdrop, to cover up part of the room, or even as a beautiful frame around your photos. If you’re going for that dreamy bohemian look, try adding some vintage-style lace curtains or an ornate tablecloth in the background of your shots! Event linens are easy to use, so you can easily set them up for indoor photoshoots or on-location photo shoots. Use lightweight pipe and drape sets for easy set-up and set-down.
Add some fun props
Adding props is a fun way to make your theme stand out. For example, if the couple is having an outdoorsy wedding, perhaps you could add a basket of flowers or a vase with flowers on the table. If you’re doing a romantic theme pre-wedding shoot, maybe add some candles and rose petals. You can also use props to help create the right angles for your pictures!
For instance, you are shooting at an outdoor location: We may want to use something like this photo prop tree branch as part of our decor because it gives us something interesting in the background while still being able to take pictures with our couple! For nighttime photoshoots, add fun, eccentric vibes with LED neon lights wall decor! You can also add camera effects with these neon lights to complete your hip photoshoot theme.
Include personal items in your photoshoot
This can be done by deciding what personal items will be used as decoration — photos of loved ones, artworks created by the couple or their family members and friends, and mementos from special moments throughout life, like memorable trips.
For example, if the couple used to spend spring dates in their favorite flower field, recreate that moment with an easy silk walk flower backdrop! If they love music, include their favorite musical instruments in the photoshoot. Do they enjoy Star Wars? Go all out with a Star Wars-themed pre-wedding photoshoot!
All these things show off who they are as people and where they come from — which makes them perfect for sharing with others at any event!
There are so many ways to decorate a pre-wedding photoshoot! Make sure to always consult with the couple for pre-wedding photoshoot ideas and make their dream pre-wedding photoshoot come to life!
