Let’s Talk – Wedding Planners
I could go on and on for hours about this one! As a wedding planner, I know myself and my fellow colleagues in the industry continue to work tirelessly through this pandemic and prioritizing our couples. We want to eliminate as much of their stress as possible by helping provide a seamless as can be a transition into postponement. While we have so much on our minds about health and wellness, we also wear many hats when it comes to supporting each and every one of our couples. The reputations and brands we develop, are a testament to our value. We are so lucky to work in an industry of professionals that work so hard to perfect their craft and show us so much incredible respect and support. For me, my biggest motivation truly comes from my clients. Today I want to take some time to recognize all wedding planners.
NOW THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE KEY REASONS
THAT A WEDDING PLANNER OR WEDDING
COORDINATOR IS AN ESSENTIAL PART TO ANY
WEDDING. I COULD GO ON FOR HOURS, BUT THE
EXPERIENCE AND EXCELLENCE OF A PLANNER IS
EASILY RECOGNIZED IN WHAT THEIR
CLIENTS/VENDORS SAY. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR
THE RELATIONSHIPS WE CONTINUE TO BUILD. AS A
COMPANY, OUR SUCCESS IS MEASURED BY EACH
AND EVERY ONE OF YOU – THANK YOU!
SANITY My personal favourite is the peace of mind our clients walk away with after every meeting. One of the best compliments as a planner is knowing that our clients did not have to stress about anything so that they could focus on enjoying their wedding. When everyone seems to be needing something, it’s nice to redirect them to someone who will handle it all so that you can focus on the reason you’re getting married – your love. Not only you, but your friends, family and guests get to enjoy every detail because you have someone ensuring it’s all done. They do not need to worry about a thing!
KNOWLEDGE One thing I continuously say is you must always continue to invest in yourself by learning. In any industry, to succeed to must always continue to educate yourself. Having a wedding planner is having someone by your side that has the knowledge of their industry, processed, trends, vendor relationships, and even the important aspects you may miss.
You are investing so much into your wedding – it is one of the most important days of your life. Would you invest 85K into any industry without doing your research? Hopefully, your answer was NO! A planner can help provide guidance on your wedding to ensure that you are allocating your budget while saving time and money. Their knowledge and experience can save you more than just hours of research.
SAVING MONEY Now this is a big one. A wedding is an investment and should be treated as such. You need to have a realistic point of view to overview your budget and ensure that you are allocating a correct amount from the start, so you’re not hit with surprise costs. Planners have the knowledge and experience to understand the approximate costs of vendors based on your specific wedding needs.
Not only can they help create your budget, but most planners have a list of preferred vendors. These vendors are known for their excellence, experience and client satisfaction. Some vendors offer preferred rates to clients of certain planners which can help save you significant costs!
COMMUNICATION As you get closer to your wedding day your mind is running at a thousand miles per second. This is the time when your vendors are finalizing details, requesting itineraries, finalizing payments and probably a lot more. Having a wedding planner or coordinator during this time is so important to ensure that nothing is being missed. You have the ability to streamline your vendor communication through one person. They can ensure that vendors receive all the details they need as well as send them finalized itineraries and follow up with any accommodations. Most planners will help create outlines so that you can check off your to-do list without missing a beat.
EXPERIENCE As planners, we have worked in this industry for A wedding planner has the experience to limit the number of surprises in your wedding. I once had a client said they were absolutely tired of the number of surprises that came up during their planning process.
years. We have the experience when it comes to selecting the right vendors based on your vision, allocating your budget, and ensuring that your contracts are clear and concise containing the necessary information. Experience allows us to best prepare your event based on your needs. As planners, we can effectively and efficiently handle not only last-minute surprises but the flow of your wedding so that your family is able to optimize on focusing on the intimate moments.
I guess this goes hand in hand with stress relief but yes, having a right hand through your wedding is great. While you have your partner, friends and family, sometimes you need someone you can wear any hat. As a planner, I’ve worn the hat of a therapist, a friend, a professional and someone to lean on. The most important thing I stress in every consultation is that your planner is someone that will be intimately involved in every detail of your wedding, it is important that this person is someone you can trust.
