This is a wild and unprecedented time for everyone, everywhere. Emotions are high and stress is at a new level. We are all unsure of when this will end and when we will be back to our new normal.
Since most of us are now housebound, we can turn this into a positive and utilize this time to better ourselves and our businesses.
- Get moving. Go for a longer than usual walk with your dog, the kids, yourself, or your partner. Do an online yoga or fitness class. Use that treadmill that’s just sitting and collecting dust (mine has just been dusted off!)
- Get cooking! All of those recipes you wanted to try but never had the time. Now is the time. We have dance parties in my kitchen (music, tequila shots or wine). It’s so much more fun!
- Boardgames, card games and reading are wonderful stress relievers.
- Catch up with friends and family via facetime, text and WhatsApp.
- Declutter your home. Take spring cleaning to the next level. Go through outdated clothing, rearrange furniture, clean windows, clean out closets, garages/locker spaces, your stove, microwave, cupboards and refrigerators, etc.
- Learn a new language. There are so many great online language classes available.
- Declutter your dedicated home office space. Sort through old files, clear space and make it as inviting as you possibly can.
- Go through styled shoots and real weddings that you haven’t had the time to submit to wedding blogs and magazines.
- Write some new articles for your blog to entice potential clients.
- Write some articles geared towards wedding pros in the wedding industry. Submit the articles to industry-related blogs (like WPIC).
- Clean up your Instagram. Is it cohesive? Get rid of photos that don’t match your brand, and didn’t get the interaction or number of likes that you were hoping for.
- Keep learning. There are so many webinars and courses that you can do right now to improve your business, as well as so many articles to read.
- Have virtual coffee or wine meetings with other wedding pros to brainstorm.
We would LOVE to hear anything positive that you have to add to this list.
