As an established Planner in the wedding industry, it is up to you to ensure that your Clients big day goes off without a hitch! Creating that perfect wedding is not an easy task, especially when something unforeseen happens such as vendor cancellations, no shows and double bookings. This is why we created Wedding Rescue.
Wedding Rescue is a company that provides assistance to couples (and vendors) on or before their wedding day when something unforeseen happens. We also prevent potential wedding emergencies from happening, by connecting couples to our certified Partners during their planning process.
We are experts on wedding emergencies and know exactly how you can prevent some of these situations from happening. It is so important as a Wedding Planner to be prepared for anything that comes your way.
Here are 5 Valuable Tips on How to Prevent the Most Common Wedding Emergencies:
1. Vet and Interview your Vendors- It’s important to interview the vendors you refer to verify that they are reliable and professional before connecting them to couples. Generally speaking you can usually tell after meeting or speaking with that vendor whether they will deliver exceptional quality and professionalism within their work. Wedding Rescue vets all of their certified Vendors before allowing them to become a
partner and listing their business on the Wedding Rescue website. Planners and couples can then book directly with these vendors, knowing that they are certfied Partners.
2. Have a Backup Plan – Cancellations, double bookings and no-shows are the most common wedding emergencies that we see, however, you cannot always prevent these situations from happening (illnesses, injuries, natural disasters, etc.) Make sure that you have a back up plan for yourself and that you keep reliable contacts on hand that you could connect to the couple in case you are unable to fulfil your duties.
Always ensure that the vendors you recommend and work with also have a back up plan. Letting your couples know that you have a back up plan also increases your credibility and professionalism. Wedding Rescue can assist you with your back up plan – If you ever find yourself in a emergency situation we can help you find a replacement for yourself or any of the vendors booked.
3. Watch out for Warning Signs- If vendors are taking a long time to respond to emails and calls (or they are not responding at all,) they are most likely not going to be a great fit for your Clients. Research all vendors thoroughly, check for reviews and overall online presence to ensure that they provide high quality services to their Clients.
4. Be Organized and OVER prepared- Ensure that you always properly track every detail of the Events that you are planning. Always communicate with your Clients – you should be keeping in touch regularly so they are always on track every step of the way. It’s also important to keep in contact with the vendors they have booked leading up to the wedding date to confirm times and what is expected of them.
5. Always Have an Stocked Emergency Kit for Couples- Not all emergencies are as big as cancellations and no-shows. There are mini emergencies that can happen the day of the wedding that can also be incredibly stressful, such as a rip in the dress or a pricked finger on a boutonniere. Always keep an emergency kit on hand for these small inconveniences. Ensure that you check and refill your kit after each Wedding.
Wedding Rescue has also created a mini Wedding Emergency Kit that has everything you need, which is a great gift for a couple or for fellow Planners.
